Pole inspection

It is essential for the operation of a climbing course interest that a comprehensive and rigorous inspection policy is in place. This ensures that itcourse meets the requirements and that it is safe for all users.

Wooden poles are an important part in the construction of many climbing courses. Due to their limited service life and exposure to external elements, specific inspection procedures are required. For this we supply visual inspections, sound inspections and inspection of wooden posts using IML.

IML

Van Riswick Pro provides inspections of wooden posts using an advanced drill (IML-RESI R400).

How does it work:
A 3 mm drill bit is inserted into the wood under constant drive to assess the internal condition of the wood by measuring the resistance in the wood; this determines whether the pole in
Good  condition, needs to be treated or completely replaced. The measurement results are recorded en analysed, then they are processed in a Van Riswick Pro report and sent to the customer.

With good management and maintenance of your course you prevent damage and decay, so that you can extend the full life of yourparc can use.

Invest in the safety of your climbing course and extend its life with our advanced wooden pole inspections. Our IML technology provides accurate measurements of the internal condition of the posts, helping you avoid damage and decay. Contact us for more information and a quote.

Tree Inspection

Our certified Tree Inspector with European Tree Technician training has extensive experience.

Tree inspection

The inspection is carried out according to the VTA method. VTA (Visual Tree Assessment) stands for a method of research into the stability and safety of trees.

A VTA examination is only indicative. When there are no suspicious symptoms, a tree can be assumed to be safe.

However, it should be noted that there is no such thing as a 100% safe tree, trees are and remain natural organisms and nature cannot always be predicted.

When you have had us carry out an inspection, you will receive the findings in writing, which you can use to demonstrate that you have fulfilled your duty of care.

How does it work:

After a VTA inspection, trees can be classified into the following five categories:

  1. Approved.

  2. Rejected, but approved after surgery.

  3. Research necessary.

  4. Approved, annual check necessary.

  5. Rejected, felling necessary.

About 1 and 5 we can be short, or good or straight cut.

Category 2 are usually trees with too much dead wood in the crown, after removal of the dead wood (diameter 4cm or more and longer than 40 cm) these are generally normally approved trees.
The next check should then take place in three years.

Category 3 and 4 are trees where there is a risk of instability and/or breakage of the trunk or branches, there is in any case something going on that requires an annual check, such as fungi and rotting.

In order to continue to guarantee the safety of a climbing forest and the constructions, the trees are inspected periodically, every 3 (to 5 years). We are happy to help you with your inspection!

The EN 15567-1:2015 and the EN 15567-2:2015 are the leading standards to determine whether your climbing park is safe and reliable. These standards set requirements for the design, construction, inspections and use of your climbing park.
